This boat measures 11 1/2 inches. It is of the period which produced Marklin Boats but I do not know the maker of this one. I list it as German but I welcome any suggestions on improving the accuracy of this listing.<br>The wind up shaft is the one with the flag on it. It is tightly wound. It has had its propeller and propeller shaft removed, and you can se in the last picture where it has been plugged. I believe this can be removed. the boat is bottom heavy and while I do not know if the movement is in there, I see no way it could have been removed. In fact, the top has been on it and never tampered with for as long as I can see. The paint seems to me to be original, but I have taken a bunch of pictures so you can tell for yourself. This boat is quite appealing the way it is, or for the advanced toy person, possibly a challenging project to see if it can be made to work.
