    Description

    Great Northern Steam Locomotive 1981 2-6-8-0  1930s Train photo.  Built 1910. Only two railroads used this oddball wheel arrangement. The other being the Southern.  Using Mallet articulated carriage, some also confused them with the Yellowstone wheel configuration. These heavyweights were use in ore hauling and heavy freight service.
