    Description

This is a reproduced photo print of President Lincoln's train which features the W.H. Whiton engine and the President's personal rail car. The W.H. Whiton was built in Alexandria
    Virginia
for the US Military RR (USMRR).
The car shown was designed to transport the President and his cabinet. It was one of the most elaborately appointed railroad vehicles ever made. It had upholstered walls, etched-glass windows, 16 wheels (adaptable to both standard and five-foot-gauge tracks) was designed to withstand an explosion and gunfire. President Lincoln was to receive the car only a day after visiting Ford's Theatre. Instead, it carried his body in the famous Lincoln Funeral Train to Springfield, Illinois. The car awaiting repair in Minnesota persihed in a fire in 1911.
This print is restored from the original and printed on matte cardstock photo paper which is acid-free and with Canon inks that are gua
ranteed for 100 years without fading.
The prints come in the frame size as specified with solid plastic trim with a glass cover. We package it to minimize the risk of damage. Please note that the watermark is visible only on website photos and it is not placed on our final poster prints.
