CONDITION:
Good to Very Good overall vintage condition. As is usually the case, the car is missing the seated tin driver that came with the car and was inserted into a notch in the seat. The lithographed graphic iconography on the car's chassis is in well-preserved overall vintage condition and doesn't suffer from really any noticeable or appreciable enamel loss anywhere on the race car. The axles are slightly bent, clearly from previous use by its once young owner but still freely move and rotate without being seized or obstructed. The wind-up key is present but the wind up mechanism appears to have failed some time ago. The mechanism isn't seized but is not working at least as to how it was originally designed to do. The car is exceedingly hard to find and even without a rider and the wind-up mechanism needing attention and possibly replacement or refurbishment, it is still a classic vintage Marx tin litho toy but in this case, it's the coveted Indianapolis 500 Indy race car, with its classic lines and exposed wheels. You will need more than a few weekends to find another on your own like this and especially in this kind of well-preserved overall vintage condition. Outstanding. Rare.
