This is a beautiful reproduction poster from the Santa Fe Railroad's famous "Kite-Shaped Track" excursion that ran through Southern California from 1892 to around 1917. This unique re-mastered image comes from an original Santa Fe advertising booklet produced circa 1906.
The vibrant colors and detail of this classic image have been painstakingly brought back to life to preserve a great piece of history.
The high-resolution image is printed on heavy archival photo paper, on a large-format, professional giclée process printer. The poster is shipped in a rigid cardboard tube, and is ready for framing.
The 13"x19" format is an excellent image size that looks great as a stand-alone piece of art, or as a grouped visual statement. These posters require
no cutting, trimming, or custom framing

    History of The Kite-Shaped Track
The Kite-Shaped Track excursion was named for a popular figure-eight or
    kite-shaped
horse racing track that was popular during the era. The figure-eight shaped rail excursion laid horizontally across Southern California, with the smaller end of the "8" encircling the San Bernardino Valley. The Santa Fe Railroad used this excursion to showcase the new towns and cities that were sprouting up all around Southern California, and to promote land sales around the region.
The Kite Track excursions became one of Southern California's best known tourist routes in the 1890's and early 1900's, and were advertised all across the United States. Some of the cities showcased on the route included Los Angeles, Pasadena, Santa Anita, Monrovia, Azusa, North Pomona, Upland, Rialto, San Bernardino, Redlands, Mentone, Highland, Colton, Riverside, Corona, Orange, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Fullerton, and La Mirada
