    Description

Listing is for four (4) different colorful posters by the School and College Service of the Association of American Railroads.
Date they were produced is unknown but one of posters references railroad growth to 1957 so that would be the earliest they were printed.
Each poster is 32” x 22” and reflect a different aspect of railroading:
Railroads and World Trade (Poster #2)
Railroad Freight Cars and What They Do (Poster M-1)
Locomotives that Made History (Poster M-3)
Railroads and the Growth of America (Poster M-4)
On the back lower right corner of each poster are various teaching aids applicable to the poster:
    Objectives
    Suggested uses
    Methods of initiating the study
    Study questions
Correlations (Social Studies, Language Arts, Reading, Writing, Spelling, and Arithmetic)
    Activities
Originally, they were probably used in public schools but I’ve no idea what grade level.
(I’m not sure I could answer some of the Study questions “Of the total railway mileage in the United States today, only about eight percent was built with the aid of Federal land grants. Discuss the importance of the land grants in the development of the United States.” Or Arithmetic: “Develop problems
based upon railway mileage, distances between cities, train speeds, travel costs, taxes, wages, and capacity of freight and passenger cars.”)
Although used, they are in good shape but have been folded repeatedly so the corners where the folds meet may have small holes/tear.
They also have holes in the corners from being hung and the edges are worn and slightly discolored from time/sun.
Still, they would in a personal train room or displayed at a layout’s clubhouse.
