Description

Tin mechanical hockey player. Approximately 6" tall, 8" long.
Made in Japan. According to my research I believe it is a TPS toy, but I can’t see any trademark.
All
tin figure of an aggressive hockey player on his way to making a goal.
Player is wearing old fashioned hockey uniform: red pants with blue & white stripe; blue jersey with the number 27 on front and rear; red skates and heavy gloves.
Figure holds a hockey stick with a puck attached.
Overall a very substantial mechanical toy from the "golden age" of Japanese toy making in the 1950's
Windup motor works great.
There are some scratches on the paint but no rust. Please check photos.
This toy has several unique and unusual motions when operating which contributes to the incredible desirability of this rare toy:
When in motion the toy moves forward on two black rubber wheels while the figure kicks his right leg and twists his upper body from right to left and making sharp turns as he sweeps the ice in front of him on his way to a winning goal.
T
he black rubber wheels are in "like new" condition with no chips or damage. The rubber drive wheels are intact and undamaged. All original with no repairs, replacements or repaints.
Wind up key is attached.
