    Description

    We could find no images of this on Google except for a Japanese copy made in the 1940's.
    This is the figurine for a mechanical music box or other mechanical piece.
    There is a purpose made hole [ 5/16" ] in the hip of the woman which most likely was for a winding key.
    There is one other slit near the man's left foot, probably to attach the pair to the mechanism.
    It is marked [ MADE IN FRANCE ] on the inside lower portion of the man's left leg.
    This stands 4 3/4" tall and the base is 2 1/4" in diameter at it's widest point.
    This is made of pot metal /spelter.
    This was hand painted. The wear to the paint is only on high relief areas and is minimal for its age.
